That nine minute monologue kept me at the edge of my seat. The end credits gave me an undesirable feeling. Its genius, showing raw insanity in pearl’s face. I have too many good things to say about the film.”

character analysis:

Not killing for what you want but what you need.

Pearl, from the moment she was born, was never give the chance to prove herself. Nor, availability to chase her dreams freely like everyone else around her. (Her sister-in-law and her husband)

She was kept with a chain on her leg to a farm. Becoming the caretaker of her sick father. She dreams of running away to dance. This film will makes you feel sympathy for Pearl. You feel for her, you root for her to chase her dreams. As if we too feel like our only purpose in life is to dance. Pearl’s character is so easily relatable. We all have dreams. Dreams that we would die for, or un-ironically kill for.

I’ll be impatiently waiting for MAXXXINE’s birth.
